Volunteers collect plankton and water quality samples at four sites, ID phytoplankton, and preserve nutrient and toxins samples for further analysis. It’s part of a Sound-wide study of harmful algal blooms(HABs). Data is owned by NOAA. We also partner with Washington SeaGrant. Data is accessible to other samplers from around the Sound through a database managed by NOAA.
