Citizen Science engages the public in scientific research leading to greater understanding, knowledge and stewardship of our marine environment. The Port Townsend Marine Science Center has one of the longest standing Citizen Science programs in the United States, having engaged over 3,500 citizens in nearly 40 projects since we opened.
PTMSC carries out a variety of research projects in partnership with scientists and research institutions. We value our support in answering real-world scientific questions. These projects are conducted by our trained citizen science volunteers.
