BioBlitz at Fort Worden

Location: Port Townsend Marine Science Center
Date: April 20, 2019

Description

Join us at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center's Museum to celebrate Citizen Science Day, on Saturday, April 20th with an iNaturalist BioBlitz.

Using the iNaturalist app we'll conduct a Bioblitz at Fort Worden State Park. A BioBlitz is an intensive 24-hour study of biodiversity in a specific location. Participants will use their smart phones and cameras to record all living things they see in Fort Worden over a 24-hour period. Anyone can participate at anytime within the 24-hour period. A live feed of observations will be shown in the museum to track the number of species identified.

Please download the free iNaturalist app and create an account before arriving. Instruction on how to use the app will be provided at 9 am at the Museum classroom. Observations can be made during the event with a smart phone, or use a camera and upload your photos afterward at www.inaturalist.org

For more information and event schedule see the PTMSC iNaturalist event page.

Please RSVP to Michael Siddel at msiddel@ptmsc.org.
